I gave up my film career for my IPL team: Preity Zinta


The Veer-Zara fame Preity Zinta. who is rarely come on the silver-screen these days, recently revealed that she gave up her bollywood career for her IPL team Kings XI Punjab, reported by Times Of India.

The famous Bollywood actress further articulated that she has put to stake more including her hard-earned money for her IPL team.

Preity Zinta told to TOI, "I gave up my film career to be part of this (Kings XI Punjab)."

Talking on the IPL spot-fixing controversy, she stated that the problem will be fixed soon.

She also cleared the rumor that her IPL team is not up for sale.

Preity Zinta didn't shy from expressing her love for her Veer-Zara co-star Shah Rukh Khan and vouched that he is a great guy.

"After Kings XI lost the final last year, he came up to me, gave me the biggest hug and wore my team's jersey. He's a great guy," Preity said.

As for the ugly fallout with her ex-beau Ness Wadia, the actress stated that it was an unfortunate incident.

IPL taught me to adapt my game - Steve Smith


Steve Smith, who contribute in the team with his bat, has become a vital cog in the Australian line-up over the recent months after being a leg-spinner. The prolific run scorer who has contributed to his country side's success across the formats attributes his growth as a cricketer to the Indian Premier League.

His great run-scoring has been integral to Australia's success in recent times. Recently he was awarded the ODI and Test Player of the year awards and collected the Allan Border Medal at a ceremony in Sydeny, this shows the contribution of Steve Smith in Australian cricket team.

Smith give credits to the IPL, which helped him to improve his game and taught him to adapt the various situations.
"It's a great tournament to be involved in. I have to pay a lot of credit to the IPL for where I am today, particularly in one-day cricket," Smith said.

"Playing in that tournament you learn a lot about yourself because you are playing every second day. You get faced with a lot of similar situations and if you don't quite get the team over the line that day, you learn from it and face the same situation a couple of days later. I think it's a great learning experience for any young cricketer," Smith added.

The 25-year old cricketer who stood-in for Michael Clarke and lead Australia to win the series against India at their home will be looking forward to compete in the forthcoming season of IPL 2015.

KKR and MI to kick start the IPL 2015 on April 8



Winners of the Pepsi IPL 2014, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), will be the play the first match of IPL 2015 against Mumbai Indians (MI), the winner of 2013 season, on their home turf, Kolkata, on April 8 2015, at Eden Gardens.

Total 60 matches (including the 4 playoffs) will be played in the IPL 2015 in 47 days of tournament. This season of IPL has captured the imagination of cricket-lovers across the world.

The MCA International Stadium at Pune will host three home games of King XI Punjab, whilst the Dr. YSR ACA-VDCA Stadium at Visakhapatnam will host three home games of Sunrisers Hyderabad. After a hiatus in 2014, the Shahid Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium at Raipur will once again stage two home games of Delhi Daredevils. Rajasthan Royals will play their home games at the Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium, Motera, Ahmedabad, and another venue that will be confirmed shortly.

The final match of Pepsi IPL 2015 will be played at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on May 24 2015. Here is the schedule of IPL 2015.
